Pūkaha Wildlife Centre

Tow of the Workhub Creative team at the Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre

Project: Creation of resources for the promotion of the incredible Masterton wildlife centre.

In late 2022, the Workhub Creative team had the opportunity to work with Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre near Eketahuna. We were fortunate that the team was open to giving the students the opportunity to create a range of resources, from videography and photography through to illustration and graphic design.

The students worked with the scientists and park rangers to learn about their animals, their life cycles and surroundings. Part of the project was also to explore the requirements of marketing, in relation to image taking and making. To do this for a company that will be using their products as promotional material was exciting and confronting at the same time.

There were three trips: one for scoping the project, one for planning the shoot day with volunteers and lastly the shoot day itself. Video footage, illustrations, information documents and brochures were the outputs required.

Posters for the life cycles of the animals were produced for the centres information and learning areas. Promotional resources were  also created to promote and educate all.
