Bidfood has grown to become the market leading food service supplier in New Zealand, with a national network of distribution centres across all product categories. Graduate Diploma in Operations and Productions student Manjulaben embraced the chance to learn in industry and began an intern role at Bidfood.

Bringing her existing knowledge to the Bidfood offices, Manjulaben observed and worked alongside managers and staff from various departments of the business. She was involved in Sales and Marketing projects, including deal negotiations and sale processes. Manjulaben used business reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of potential solutions and approaches to problems.

“This placement has given me experience working in and observing a full-scale organisation. It’s theoretical learning and self-reflection being applied in practice,” says Manjulaben.

“It has helped me to improve my knowledge in managing inventory, optimising costs, and supply chain management. This internship helped me to experience the real business world.”
